As The Cars sang in 1984, “Hello Again”!
This post represents a reboot of my blog. Since I started blogging I found the information I intended on talking about wasn’t so much once I needed to write about it. I’m not sure that came our right. I enjoyed, and still do, working through the issues surrounding the subject matter, but not the actual writing part. Maybe that makes more sense.
My old blog is C0MM0N B1TS (no longer active). If you’ve seen it, or followed it, you probably noticed the activity slumped off quite a bit over the past 6 months. This is the new home. I’ve imported the old blogs data to this blog and at some point I will remove the old blog.
I spent a lot of time thinking about the content and decided to refocus on subjects I really like. One of those is vintage Atari home computers. I’ve had them boxed up for decades, literally. I’ve always wanted to keep one accessible but never really put the effort into it. Back in 80’s when 8 bit computers rules the personal computer market, there were many things I dabbled in but never completed.
In the future you will probably see a lot of posts on 6502 Assembler, and Action! programming. I learned the basics of these 30 years ago but never became proficient, unfinished in my mind. You will also see posts about the marriage of new technology with the old technology, like Compact Flash cartridge based hard drives. Say what?! Or emulation on new hardware. And I also want to post about the Atari game consoles like the VCS (2600).
With so much unfinished business and a focus on 8 bit technology, the new title, Unfinished Bitness, seems a logical play on words. I hope you enjoy the new content.
